In 2003 Rhonda became a partner in the Asheville law firm of McDowall & Moorefield, and partnered with Bill McDowall until his retirement in 2007. Since that time, Rhonda has been a solo practitioner focusing in the areas of Family Law and Criminal Defense. In 2013, Rhonda changed locations and renamed her firm, and associated Katherine Fisher, expanding the firm’s ability to offer a wider variety of quality services to Western North Carolina clients in need of legal representation. In November 2013, Rhonda became a Board Certified Specialist in Family Law. Rhonda and Katie represent people in Buncombe, Madison, Haywood, and Henderson counties.
RHONDA K. MOOREFIELD, B.S., J.D.– Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Western Carolina University and a graduate of Stetson University College of Law. Ms. Moorefield practices both criminal and civil litigation in state and federal courts with a concentration in personal injury and family law cases. She is a member of the North Carolina Advocates for Justice and the American Association for Justice. She is also a Board Certified Specialist in Family Law and a Certified Mediator in the Family Financial Settlement Program through the State of North Carolina Dispute Resolution Commission.
KATHERINE FISHER, B.A., J.D., – Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1992, and University of North Carolina School of Law at Chapel Hill in 2003. Katie is a family law attorney. She’s dedicated many years of her career to representing victims of domestic violence through divorce and providing indigent legal services through legal aid serving the Western North Carolina region. Katie focuses her private practice exclusively on family law matters.
